Triangle Passing

Simple passing activity where players pass the ball around the triangle using various patterns. Can be used as an extended warm up or as part of a session.

Simple passing activity where players pass the ball around the triangle using various patterns. Can be used as an extended warm up or as part of a session.

Focuses on: First touch, Passing (simple ground passes, first time passes, one-twos, reverse passes), Movement & Communication.

Set-up:
Set up a Triangle grid with each side 7-10 yards in length.

Red players start as shown above. Players divide equally on the three cones.

Progressions:
Variation 1: Simple ground passes (Clockwise & Anti-clockwise)
Variation 2: One-twos
Variation 3: Skipped Pass

Coaching Points:
Movement - Prior to receiving passes, can you move away from the cone? Should the movement be slow or quick & sharp?
Angle & Weight of Pass - Are you playing to their correct foot? Playing to their back foot to play forward quickly, playing to safe side etc. Is the weight of pass right? Can they play first time?
