2 v 1+GK to big goal (Inside the box)
Simple activity focusing on scoring goals.
Description:
The Red team aims to score while the blue player attempts to prevent the red team from scoring.
Set-up:
The penalty box will be used as the field of play. Place two cones at the top of the box as shown above. Divide players into two teams of 6 & 4.
The Blue GK starts the play by passing the ball to one of the two Red players. If the ball goes out of bounds, play re-starts with the GK. Red team will attack and blue team will defend for 2 minutes and then teams will switch so that all players have opportunity to attack and defend.
More Challenging:
Give the Red team a time limit to create a chance (Increase speed of play)
Add additional defender - 2 v 2+GK
Less Challenging:
Defenders cannot pressure the attackers until the attackers have taken their first touch (More time for Attackers)
Coaching Points:
Decision making - How do you decide when to pass, dribble or shoot? When is the best time to pass to your teammate?
Support - Where can you go on the field to support your teammate?
Creativity - Can you use a piece of skill to create space or beat a defender?
